When we returned the kids quickly got to work making their snails. They started out by rolling a piece of clay into a snake shape.
Next, they rolled each snake up to create a snail shell form, leaving the end out to become the snails head.
Two little snips of pipe cleaner made the perfect antenna. This clay is really easy for little hands to work with and add accessories, too.
We used tacky glue to add eyes and position our snail on the stick. The kids noticed that the glue looked like snail slime!
Eventually they decided to paint the shell with some watercolor paints, but it wasn’t necessary. Our snail was adorable either way.
