I needed an activity last week that would keep both the little ones entertained and the older children that are off on school holidays. We haven’t had this out for a while, but bakery role-play is always popular!
We have rolls, pasties, pizza, sausage rolls, donuts, gingerbread men, biscuits, cookies and chocolate drops.
Busy setting up.
As this was a bakery, I also provided playdough and decorations for the children to make more cakes to sell.
Busy creating!
Yum yum!
The children decided the needed to add price labels.
And then they were ready for play.
It wasn’t long before a queue had built up!
Making their choices.
Packing…
…waiting for change!
With support even the really little ones joined in play.
And they even managed to get close to the cash register!
Later in the week, I added cellophane and ribbon and the children set to work packaging their cakes.
