Your little superheros wil love creating their own wooden super-dolls! They are fun and easy to decorate, and are a great prop for pretend play – providing lots of super-fun!
Gather your materials: wooden peg dolls, felt (this is a great use of leftover scraps of felt), glue (we used Tacky glue) and markers (those are optional – we decided to just leave the faces blank for now.)
First, cut shapes from your felt. We cut big, squared off triangles for capes, long skinny rectangles for belts and scarves, and diamonds, stars, and lightning bolts for decoration. My little guys found it easier to draw the shapes (or have Mom do it) on the felt, and then they could cut them out.
Decorate your cape: just add a big drop of glue and place whatever shapes you like.
We chose to add a belt to this superhero. First, we measured the size around his “belly” and cut the right length. Then we put a thin line of glue directly on the felt, and placed it on the doll.
We added some more embellishment to the belt — every superhero needs a cool belt buckle!
Voila! They’re off to save the world!
