The role-play kitchen is very popular round here at the moment, so I’ve been adding resources each week to enhance the children’s play. Week one, I’ve added dried pasta and peas to create opportunities for cooking!
The children have enjoyed selecting, scooping and combining the pasta and peas.
Busy preparing dinner 🙂
Lots of opportunities to practise small motor skills and make choices in play…..
…oh and to work on our sharing skills!
We started the week with this shallow cake tin but found it a bit tricky getting the peas to stay inside!
The pasta and peas (or maybe the interest of the older children) attracted the attention of even the little ones.
Imitating play she had observed earlier.
Those pesky peas proved to be a little more tricky to pick up!
She spent a long time moving the pasta and peas between the compartments.
