I’ve always sung nursery rhymes with the children in my care, but I’ve often wondered if they have any idea what we are singing about! So I thought as I introduce new nursery rhymes to the children, I would set up a little play scene to help them understand what they are singing about. As we’ve been looking at birds recently for the Big Garden Birdwatch, we started with 2 Little Dicky Birds.
J loved it. He spent most of the week moving the birds around, sometimes singing the rhyme and sometimes just playing with them.
