Halloween Round-up

99

Here’s some of the activities the little ones have been busy with over the last week or so.

100

 First up is playdough monsters!
I have a little lady who just loves playdough, so this tied in nicely with her interest.

101

I provided the children with an assortment of resources and they created their own unique monsters.

103

104

E had a go at creating….

106

…however she really seemed to like pulling them apart!

107

108

109
Next up is one of our pumpkin activities.

110

This year I invested in a couple of hand-drills and this is the first time we’ve tried them out.

111

There were no shortage of testers!

112

113

Experimenting with drilling from the inside out!

114

We’ve also had lentils out over the last week – messy, but lots of fun!

115

I set them out in a bowl, rather than in the tray as normal and the children seemed to really enjoy being able scoop big spoonfuls.

116

Trying out the different equipment.

117

118

Filling…

119

…and emptying

120

Filling the bottle with a little help.

121

Deciding to have a try without the funnel.

122

Pouring into small containers….

123

and even smaller containers!

125

E wasn’t interested in the little containers.

126

It was pouring between the larger containers that caught her interest.

127

128

Here are the fab spider webs the children have been busy creating today.

129

I think they enjoyed this activity as they could do the whole process themselves.

130

We’ve also visited the woods to join in with the Halloween treasure hunt.

131.5

Oh, and this was another one the children loved, snowflakes spiders webs!

132

That just leaves their glow-in-the-dark pumpkins to share.  They look really effective in the dark, unfortunately it doesn’t show up on camera.

137

We’ve scooped out the insides of the pumpkins we grew in the garden (when we used the hand drills) but we’ve got our big pumpkins to do tomorrow.  We’re also going to try roasting the pumpkin seeds.
